#BlackInDataWeek2025 is a month away! 🥰
Are you as excited as we are to see what's out there?
With five weeks to go before our flagship event, we’re excited to see what pops up this year for Black in Data week 🎉 We have a good mix of academicians and industry data professionals that should allow us to share knowledge to the max. If you’re a learner, don’t be shy! We want to hear from you too.
We still have a few slots opened up to the community and have extended our application deadline. If you’re eager to share your data escapades of late, you can express interest here by May 17th 2025! As always, all formats and dimensions of data learners and professionals are welcome.
Events
We had a lot of interest in the health analytics and epidemiology transition event held by our founder, Dr. Kimberly Deas. She’ll be back with more gems for our conference presentations. We’re also working on getting you more engaging sessions like Lauren Shores’ mentorship and networking and Amazing Race technical workshop. She is consistently our most popular presenter, and we appreciate the feedback!
This month, we’re ending early so we can focus on the Black in Data Week festivities! Only one event. Join Sia on the now rescheduled session - Advocating for Your Growth At Work on Tuesday, May 13th @ 5 pm US ET where she shares some recent reflections from the past two years of career growth learnings.

In lieu of community role shares, we encourage you to look at these two job boards that are run by two great women and champions for underrepresented communities and Black women in technology. A unique feature of both these job boards is that they are vetted.

For those of you hiring with the new budgets, you can reach out to newsletter@blacktidesdata.com with some contact information to share roles for the community. You’re also encouraged to share wins with us so we can amplify the feets of Black professionals in data!
Stay in touch with us on LinkedIn, BlueSky, and Threads for updates and resource shares throughout the month and tell us what else you’d like to learn with and from the community.
Until next month. Take care, data fam!
