#BlackInDataWeek2024 is This June 💚💙🖤
Check out our March events and apply to speak at BID week 2024!
The days are about to get longer and the sun is shining brighter again. Spring is making an entrance, and we hope that means you’re all ramped up and making your biggest moves of 2024 already! Over here at the place where the intersection of data and Blackness is celebrated, we’re doing some things a little differently!
First of all, did you notice our name grew? We’re now ✨ BlackTIDES Data ✨ Not a big change on the surface and you may have seen it in some of our platforms, but consider this the major rollout. We think the specificity helps folks identify our mission better. We hope you like it too!
In other avenues, we have more recaps for you to catch on YouTube. You can find encores of all the workshops you missed so far from our 2023-2024 offerings, and even more of our #BlackInDataWeek2023 events on the @blacktidesdata channel. And thank you to all our new subscribers. All of a sudden, we have 121 of you!
We hope to keep you engaged with more in March. Speaking of 👀

📣 Calling All Speakers 📣
#BlackInDataWeek2024 is officially on June 17th - 22nd 2024. After its long awaited return, we are bringing back what first introduced you to us - only this time, it’s in the summer! If you’d like to share your Black in data knowledge, apply here. We look forward to being inspired by you ✨
Our main themes this year are journeys, skills and visualizations, justice, and entrepreneurship. We will also have a wild card day where any trending topic submissions are game! We’re talking the latest AI evolution, sports, policy applications of data - anything that floats your boat. Plus to close the week off, we’ll have a mentorship and networking session. Stay tuned for more details on that one!

In lieu of community role shares, we encourage you to look at these two job boards that are run by two great women and champions for underrepresented communities and Black women in technology. A unique feature of both these job boards is that they are vetted.
Frauvis - Black Women in Tech Community by Naya Moss
Diversify Tech - Underrepresented in Tech Community by Veni Kunche
We’d also like to extend congratulations to our Operations Lead, Sia Seko, for her recent promotion at work! Here’s to many more successes ahead 🥰❤️
For those of you hiring with the new budgets, you can reach out to newsletter@blacktidesdata.com with some contact information to share roles for the community. You’re also encouraged to share wins with us so we can amplify the wins of Black professionals in data!
Stay in touch with us on the platform formerly known as Twitter and LinkedIn for updates and resource shares throughout the month and tell us what else you’d like to learn with and from the community.
Until next month. Take care, data fam! 🖤❤️💚
